Something to think about
Caught a link from the once great and now midling rant fest that is uopowergamers.

Lets just set the record straight.

Less than a five hour drive from my house there is an entire city of 500,000 people that has been completely evacuated. Further up the coast there is an as of yet undetermined loss of life and BILLIONS of dollars worth of loss of property, and the world has yet to see what the cost of the loss of 25 percent of the US oil industry will be.

And people bitch about what features are going to be in the expansion and what features will be available to those that do not make that purchase.

I have not purchased my copy of ML as of yet. And let me just tell you what I am going to be doing with my spare change for a while. There are people in need out there folks. Its not a game that there is suffering, not half a world away this time, but right here in our own back yard. I had planned to be back in force for a bit. But I can't see that happening atm. If they can use me swinging a hammer or slopping hash or picking up garbage or just telling someone that things are going to be ok if they can just bring themselves to hang on a bit longer, then that's where I'll be.

Send money to American Red Cross. Keep an eye out here for the possibilities of your own involvement if you can spare the time. And for the sake of goodness fall on your knees a few times everyday and ask your creator for benevolence and compassion to hold sway on the Gulf Coast.

Copy and post this if you can in boards elsewhere. If anybody has a mind to throw it up on the front page, do so.

Remember our charter also says to help those in need. Well, Wowza! If you don't get it by now stand still and let me see what effect this brick might have.

Love you guys and gals, spread the word and keep the faith.

My sword cuts meat for stew, and speaks for me!

Winds of Change
A gentle breeze stirred the grasses on the knoll as the Knights of Britannia and guests began to gather outside the Shrine of Justice. Mystic Rose looked around her at the faces of her brothers and sisters of KoB with pride… this was her family.

Entering the Shrine, one could not fail to sense the presence of the spirits of those long gone from the KoB family. She missed them, as she would miss the position she would be vacating.

Clearing her throat Rose begins the ceremony by welcoming everyone. She recalls her first wonderful steps into the family of KoB as she is caressed by the spirits of the past. She speaks of the ever changing winds of life and her decision to pass the sash of leadership on.

Gently holding out the black sash of the GM, Rose, running her fingers over the fragile cloth, says "This piece of cloth is a symbol of the leadership within KoB. Such a fragile piece of material, yet held together with the strengths of those that donned it in the name of KoB. Now the time has come to add another name to her strengths. Beowolf would you come stand before me."

Rose smiled warmly, a tear of pride forming in her eye as she spoke of Beowolf and his growth within KoB.

She spoke of his dedication, his leadership and his strengths to lead KoB as it continues to grow and prosper. As Rose handed Beowolf the GM sash she said "It is with great honor I pass this sash and leadership of the KoB over to you. Wear it with pride, Beowolf, add to it your strength, as those that have worn it before you."

Beowolf kneeled before Rose as she fulfilled another tradition within KoB. Tapping Beowolf’s shoulders with Falden’s Blade. Rose performed her last act as Gm of KoB "I dub Thee, Beowolf, the tenth Guildmaster of the Knights of Britannia !"

Handing Beowolf Falden’s Blade, Rose stepped in place among her brothers and Sisters of KoB celebrating Beowolf’s advancement, as the winds of change gently caressed her.

A Champion is Named
Written By: Beowolf, Knight Captain, Paladin

Dawn was just breaking as Knights and Squires alike gathered at the tower stronghold of one of the bravest and most noble orders in Sosaria. All present showed the signs of excitement, and with heads high and a glint in every eye they stepped through Sirus Falden’s gate to the plaza in Trinsic close to the docks.

There they were greeted by Furie herself, who though long away had toiled diligently to prepare the arena for the day’s main event. Since the mysterious disappearance of Nuno, the Knights of Britannia had been without a champion and Mystic Rose had decided the time was ripe to pluck a new hero from the ranks.

In all twelve members and ten participants ringed the field before the first flag fell. Beowolf oversaw the matches and was responsible for the pairing and Sirus himself bravely stood between combatants and called for the beginning of each round.

First up in the squires division a contest between Grice De Maus and Kelvar who was newly appointed to the stone. Though there was a question later pertaining to the nature of the weapon Kelvar used to end the duel Grice showed a depth of grace that will carry him far when he submitted to the result claiming he had been bathed in magic fire enough already and had no care to hold the match again.

So Kelvar was pitted in the ring yet again this time against Bile. Both squires fought like the Knights they work diligently to become, but Bile held his own through a rain of explosions and ebolts to stand alone in the ring.

The next match pitted a mighty warrior against a sage and savvy mage. Kildair Axeman carried his death-dealing axe into the ring against Jim, one of our craftiest mages. And while his swings were bone crushers all, his newly smithed armor seemed to squeak and resist his efforts of mobility. Jim meanwhile ducked and darted his way to a victory.

Next in the ring lest a husband and wife fight in mortal combat in the first round was Bill Alric that crafty mage and none other than our own Mystic Rose. Unfortunately this match was called in favor of Bill for an out of ring incurred by Rose. Bill later flatly denied the accusations that he had magically moved the line further out and then back again thus creating the default.

And so the final match in preliminary rounds was between our two brave Knight Captains Beowolf and Sirus. Sirus cracked his knuckles in preparation for a volley of spells while Beo nibbled his lower lip in apprehension of the fight to come. Bravely fought on both sides it concluded with Beowolf advancing into the final four.

And so the contestants had dwindled to four.

The first match was the event of the night itself, with Bile pitted against Jim in a fight that made it very close to the time limit. Judges watched closely as the pair moved about the ring keeping a close eye on whom stumbled the most and most often in the event the fight be called on points. Bile had Jim against the ropes several times but a late barrage of very heavy magic left Jim the winner of this contest and guaranteed him a spot in the final round of competition. GREAT fight guys!

Next Bill and Beo squared off in a fierce duel that left Beo dazed even as he felled Bill close to the southern edge of the ring.

And so the final round was fought between Jim of Team Mage and Beowolf the Knight Captain. It has been recorded elsewhere of the epic struggles they had in the past; both members took their time in preparation for the fight. Beowolf opened with a quick volley of arrows that might have caused some dismay to the mage as he wove magic from his corner of the ring, but taking advantage of Jim’s unease Beo unsheathed his katana and closed the gap between them. For several minutes both took turns of robbing each other of life force and twice it looked as though Jim would hold the day. Beowolf staggered backward reeling from a massive onslaught of spells, but ever thankful to his local alchemist, Beowolf managed to rebound both times. Then indeed did he pin the mage against the ring’s edge while the katana whistled through the air and Jim strove valiantly to heal himself, but finally succumbed to the sword.

At the end of the day a good time was had by all, and many notes were shared and stories told and retold of valiant deeds from days gone by. Beowolf thanked all for participating and accepted a Swordsman’s suit of fine valorite armor from Mystic Rose in congratulations for the accomplishment.

Be there when we do it all over again, coming to a ring near Yew in late November.

In the Depths of Terathan
The lone terathan drone scurried along the main spire leading up to the upper levels and the keep proper. You might say the creature was content in its existence. True to its thousands of counterparts it merrily fussed over the passageway. Clearing small bits of rubble, secreting organic matter into small cervices it would patrol the more poorly lit shadows in hopes that it may stumble upon a morsel such as a rat or a mouse to eat. Upon instinct it followed a sound right up to the entrance to catch it’s prey. Scanning the area from which the sound came from its head promptly exploded. The body from the neck down twitched a moment, and fell over dead.

Lleldorin: "Aragon, your as subtle as six miles of unfinished road."
Aragon: "Sorry, I wanted to be sure the spell was strong enough"
Beowolf: "And to think Duergar wanted one as a pet"
Grice: "I thought Duergar was a pet"
Sirus: "Knights, let’s press forward and be done with this."

Deep within the caverns under the keep, the adventurers penetrated further into the horde. Drones were dispatched at every other turn in the passageways leading to the deepest level. Upon final approach to the main chamber hall the knights found themselves at a wide intersection. From here numerous defenders could sweep in from each of the four winds. It was a clean passage, on the verge of sterile, but dried bloodstains upon the stone gave this location away as a deathtrap.

Four terathan warriors stood in the archway of the chamber. It was apparent that many invaders were dispatched here as a defense checkpoint. Even though the knights were spotted well before they came within range of the chamber, they simply waited for them to approach. The four warriors stepped apart to reveal the real threat, a terathan avenger. Knight Captains Sirus and Beowolf exchanged a glance, then directed their stare back at the warriors. Beowolf’s instincts told him the avenger would not be his concern.

Although the avenger could rip through more than a dozen fighters before even slowing, Sirus and Guild Mistress Mystic Rose working together were much more lethal than the just sum of their parts. Their style of fighting was a bonding of two fighters in rhythmic harmony that only comes from years of complimenting each other’s skills. Even with the white blindness that plagued Sirus, they showed no sign of faltering. Holding the stare of the avenger, he drew in breath to move to the warriors.

The avenger blinked as Rose ran in seemingly out of nowhere and at full charge. Within striking she tucked and tumbled into a somersault. The avenger turned to follow her course realizing it’s mistake a moment too late. An explosion followed by an energy bolt hit true behind the base of its neck. Repeating it’s last mistake, the avenger’s anger was now fully directed at Sirus. A third blow came in from behind. Rose’s war mace of Arachnid Doom inflicted far more impressive damage than what Sirus had started. A section of the chitinous armor was now completely gone, a mortal wound that would never heal. The avenger reeled back giving Sirus clear aim. A moment later his arrow severed it’s spinal cord.

Rose paused to look the creature in its eyes. Though it’s defeat was effortless she decided to show it honor by letting it meet death standing and eyes forward. Rose’s mace came down and the creature soaked in the blow and resumed its malice toward Rose. Again and again her mace came crashing down until it finally slumped to the ground dead.

Beowolf and his party finished off the warriors without incident. Duergar, efficiently renowned deep within his drawfen roots, was halfway through tapping a bottle of toxin from the dead avenger. Far be it from Duergar to pass up a lucrative opportunity as long as it did not further endanger the quest. Sirus might have objected, but this was his way for as long as he could remember. And if anyone needed something that was hard to find, Duergar was indeed the person to see.

Rose: "Be careful"
Duergar: "Not too worry, the small one’s venom is just as potent as the large ones."
Aragon: "Why not use nightshade for your poison?"
Duergar: "Nightshade is a poor substitute for this poison. This is what the drow use you know."
Sirus: In Sanct Grav
Beowolf: "Sirus is casting! Make ready!"

Through the chamber from which they came, two more avengers flanked each by two warriors could be seen approaching. These particular avengers represented the true size of their "average" class. The avengers stopped short of the archway, their progress stopped short by a portcullis of magical energy set down by Sirus. Aragon and Duergar summoned forth elementals into the chamber to reek havoc upon the warriors while Lleldorin provoked the avengers upon each other. The two then picked up pace to catch up with the rest of the group and continued on toward their goal.

A Lich's Nightmare
Written By: Sirus, Knight Captain

Lord Maugram, once High Elder of the Eighth Circle lay nearly dormant. It had been nearly a full season of slumber. The Lich Lord had encased himself in one of several sarcophagi found in the tombs of Deceit and it was almost time to rise again.

Intricate runes formed a complex latticework design on the casing and braziers, marked that it’s occupant was indeed of importance. His status earned him the right to rest here for this place sustained his strength, his essence, and mental being. There was much to be done. Scrolls had to be researched, dark experiments called for human sacrifices, reagents needed to be harvested. Soon the apex of his power will have regenerated, and Maugram would walk again.

The thought of this was being savored. Almost as if he has willed it, the stone that comprised the sarcophagus cover slid off in fluid motion and landed with a thud. As Maugram’s vision came into focus and to his complete surprise, he saw the faces of several KoB knights peering in. One knight most notably was a red headed female with the sweet smile of a small and curious child.

Maugram was undead and with that the power of strength and lightning reflexes. However, he could not move since each limb was held fast by four knights. A rather large knight with a even bigger silver double edged axe named Kildair bounded into the air from the edge of the sarcophagus and let all his rage crash down upon the lich lord’s chest. Rose simply rested the bottom tip of her shield upon Maugram’s blackened neck as her eye contact pivoted over to her mace, held in striking position.

The Lord tried to scream in terror or in pure hatred, none could tell. Rose could see the ball of the mace crash down through the reflection in his eyes. The blow was enough to break the lich’s magical defenses and fractured his skull. Rose turned on a heel and held an extremely arrogant stride as she walked away. It was arrogant because Rose kept her back to the doomed lich. The several knights that bound him now banded various weapons of silver to finish the lord off.

Sirus from a distance who had vanquished many lichs in his time simply saw his wife’s actions, paused and reminded himself to take in a breath. He would have no part of ruining his wife’s fun by partaking in the slaughter. He was simply content to watch his guildmates fight side by side and cast healing and occasional protection spells.

"That was exhilarating, can we do that again?" Explained Kildair
Beowolf asked "Rose, I wish to stare down a lich when we *crack* it open"
"You would think it never had a mother" laughed Bile
Bill Alric scoffed "I’m not sure it even had a name"
"It had a enough gold. Good compensation for his riddance" exclaimed Krillian.
"Can we do it again!" asked an excited Lleldorn

And so the Knights of Britannia continued with the systematic destruction. The hidden cache of slumbering lichs was rid from the lands. Rose could not help but smile at her guild and in the fellowship that brought them together this night.

July 17th Event - Epilogue
Sirus peered into the cell and met the steely gaze of Morley. Both were exhausted, but being a minor demon gave him thousands of years more experience and better properties of recovery than Sirus. For those first moments Sirus saw only the aura. Shades of red pulsated all around Morley. It was like an ugly infection. Red footprints splattered on the floor, hand prints on the table, even the basin of water looked blood red.

"Lleldorin, look at the water. What do you see?"
"I see … water. Is it unclean?

Sirus simply shook his head. His suspicions were confirmed. Demons… rather minor demons had been in Vesper walking among humans unaware. Sirus was the only person able to see them since his return from Ilshener. Now one of those demons sat in the guildhall’s jail. He was captured single handed by Lleldorin. Morley was working at the local healers and cornered by Lleldorin, Vega, and Bill Alric of KOB for questioning.

Morley panicked and split into two separate essences to mislead his captors and ran. It was unfortunate that Vega, and Bill Alric slew the form they understood to be Morley. But the other essence was captured and it was not about to cooperate anytime soon. Rose gently placed a hand on Sirus’s shoulder.

"I received word from Vesper. Traces of a poison were found in the water and healing salves. They suspect many wounded were crippled, some have died under the care of Morley. His tactics were so subtle no one noticed. The healers have started to treat who they can. They wish to express to the guild their appreciation that can now treat the wounded to the best of their abilities. What is to become of this Morley?"

"We can wait around a few lifetimes before he’ll talk. Let clerics of Britain perform a ritual of exorcism. If he’s human, there’s nothing to worry about. Isn’t that right Morley?"

Morley’s steely gaze faded into a blank expression.

A Fight to be Remembered
Hail friends. Pull up a stool and pour yourself a tall one. For the tale I shall tell thee tonight is a testimony of our guild mates Of the Knights Of Britannia. On the night of Kildair' Axeman’s Knighting, we retired to our usual festivities of beating the newly honored Knight into submission. Although I must confess, I did not take part in this horrid behavior due to the kindness in my heart. I knew it would be a long night for our would be hero so I gave him his first taste of victory by tripping on the stone floor of our tower and faking to be beat into submission myself. For is a Knight's duty not to sacrifice when need be? So I willing gave of myself to my guild mate.

Ah duty, but back to the tale at hand. As the night wore on and many of our numbers diminished, a few of our guild stayed to continue the time honored dance of death. With only four of us left the stage was set for the fight that would be seen by few but known by many. Beowolf stood in the eastern circle with his armor dented but by no means less strong. For if Beowolf knows anything, it is the quality of his equipment that makes the difference between life and death. How many times have we seen this warrior cheat the mages flame of pain and destruction by throwing an explosion potion or by drinking a timely heal. This man knows the ways of the warrior.

In the corner facing him stood the mage known as Jim. Little is known about Jim by this story teller but I am beginning to see the errors of judging a book by its cover. I see mages from time to time. They hurry about town with their silly llamas trying to barter for a few more precious reagents. This man did not seem to follow this template. Instead his arms and hands were steady as his face showed not the arrogance of most casters. This is not a house mage at all this man is a combat mage a warlock.

So the stage being set, I prepared to drop the stone wall to mark the beginning of the match. Crimson and I stood still and out of the way to avoid the blows to come. The wall dropped...from the get go the fight was shear excitement. Beowolf charged the mage and prepared to slash him with his sword. Early on I thought the fight to be over, before I even had time to finish my ale, but twas wrong as usual. As I expected, Beo cut the mage deep. But wait the mage Jim has hit him with at least two quick spells. Did he cast two spells or is he really just that good? Beo swayed back as if hit by a Balron. I guess the mage will finish him off and that will be that.

As you have guessed by now I twas wrong again. The old crafty warrior has hit the bottle and maybe even a bandage and he is fit to continue as if he were never harmed. At this point, it was safe to say if you had money on the fight you were gonna have to wait a bit to see if you would see it again or at least hear your mate tell you how foolish you are with your money. Well to keep the tale a running, either bet would have been a safe one for sometime.

As the audience watched we were treated to new tactics and styles throughout the fight. Beowolf used at least three different weapons not counting his shield or potions. The mage Jim started several different strings of magery in order to subdue his would be attacker. I wish I could tell you the fight was timed. For if I tell you it was almost an entire day you would not stay to hear the conclusion so I will not attempt to tell you that the fight was almost an entire day. Instead, I will tell you that the fight was very long indeed. In fact, Crimson had to make leave in order to start breakfast for his mates.

As I watched the fight, I being a low level mage myself, I began trying to figure out whom would run out of supplies first. The warrior Beo whom had hit so many potions that in his attempt to disrupt the mage managed to hit Crimson and myself with wild throws of purple pain or would mage Jim whom had cast more spells than I could possibly count. Regardless of whom would run out first, this fight would not be over until one of these men laid dead on the cold stone floor of our sanctuary.

As the moon began to set and the sounds of morning crept into our ears, yes I speak the truth. The end was at hand for one of our brothers. Twas the reagents that gave way not our mates. For our would be warrior was not an alchemist and when his bottles emptied so did his body as his blood spew across the floor. As Jim blasted the essence of Beowolf from the his body, Beo did not give way. He charged to face death as a warrior. And in his dying moments he struck out at his opponent, but only to miss as Jim cast his blade aside and blew his mind out of the back of his head. The warlock was Jim. Jim the honorable and victorious as he stood on the top floor of the tower and cried out to me. He said to rez this man as he am unable to do so at this moment. His mana was low and his brow was thick with blood, sweat, and tears of battle.

He did not gloat and for that I salute him in his victory and I salute Beowolf in his defeat. If either was truly defeated then I have no reason to go on. For I, being the only witness to this triumph of the spirit of KoB, I am proud to say, "My Sword Speaks for Me!" and these are my brothers.

Bill Alric, Knight of KoB

Tradition Continues
As the afternoon sky turned to evening the members of the Knights of Britannia (KoB) began to gather at the guild tower. Tonight was again a night of celebration, a night of tradition. With formal plate armor glistening, crimson cloaks and sashes adorned, the members of KoB proceeded to the Shrine of Justice.

Standing before the gathered members, GuildMistress Mystic Rose spoke of the time honored tradition of the ceremony. Calling forth Kildair Axeman and Knight Captain, Beowolf, as his acting sponsor, Rose recalled Kildair’s entrance into the guild and watching as this young man grew into the seasoned warrior. Rose praised Kildair for his activities in KoB. She spoke of his Honor and his Loyalty to the guild.

As Rose presented Kildair with his crimson sash of Knighthood, a roar of congratulations rose from the gathered members.

Month of Celebrations and Tears
Just as the waters of a raging river flow rapidly by, so do the years of our lives. Some years drift by quietly and gently, while others are turbulent and trying. Each year leaves us with memories, some pleasant and some that bring tears.

This past month was a month of Celebrations and of Tears. We celebrated the promotions of Bill Alric to knighthood, Aragon and Bane to Battle Mage and Warrior and we celebrated in the growth of our guild with the additions of Erain Quickling and StormMyst.

It has also been a month of tears as we have lost two long-term members. Maud' Dib and Sir Matthew.

In a quiet meeting with Rose in her garden home, Maud broke the news it was time for him to return to the land of Arrakis, now that a way for him to return had been found. Long ago as battles raged in Arrakis, Maud was plucked from his home by the evil Guardian and exiled here in Sosaria. From his first days here Maud had been a driving force among KoB. Although not often seen in the last few years Maud’s presence, wisdom and generosity could always be counted on. With a wipe of tears Maud presented a check for KoB and handed Rose a pouch of a few of his belongings to be given to those of KoB in his name. As hard as leaving his family here in Britannia was, Maud knew his family in Arrakis needed him more. He gave Rose a gentle hug, turned and walked into the darkness, his crimson cloak waving gently behind him.

We also said good bye To Sir Matthew. At the end of the promotion ceremony For Aragorn and Bane, Sir Matthew asked to speak. Clearing his throat and wiping a tear from his beard, Sir Matthew thanked his KoB family. He thanked them for opening their arms to a lost young boy, for allowing him to grow into the brave warrior that stood before them now. He too was returning to his home, Athel Loren, to aide his remaining people. Walking over to Beowolf, Matthew handed him his sword, Sunfang. A gift his father gave him with his dying breath. Turning quickly and wiping a tear. Matthew removed his crimson cloak and handed it to Bane. “Wear it proudly young warrior.” were his final words as he began his journey home.

Memories and Celebration
Hearing the knock on the tower main door, startled Mystic Rose from her thoughts. By the time she reached the entry hall, he was already inside and chatting comfortably with Beowolf. He looked tired and worn. He rose and with a deep bow introduced himself as Aragorn. He shared his tale as he ate the meal Rose had the chef prepare. He was a seasoned grandmaster mage who had traveled alone for many years after the attacks on Trinsic. He came to the Knights of Britannia seeking a family to travel with; he had been alone far too long. Beowolf agreed to sponsor him to KoB and a deep friendship was founded. Aragon quickly became a trusted member among the knights. Sharing much of his knowledge and years of experience.

Bill’s knighting ceremony completed, the jubilant rowdy members of KoB returned to the guild tower to continue the celebration. No one noticed the young man standing in the shadows on the roof. Vega spotted him first and called the young one to his side. This scrawny young man, chest puffed, war axe and shield equipped, strutted past members of KoB to stand before Vega. Stifling a laugh, Vega told the young one to disarm, he was among friends.
The young one refused. Voice quivering he said “ A Hero is always weary and weapons in hand until he accesses his surroundings” A roar of laughter erupted from the tower roof as the knights welcomed the young one and continued with their tournament. Rose stood back watching this young man. His name was Bane. He was seeking experience and adventure. Although his skills were lacking, he did not turn down a challenge from a seasoned warrior. He held his ground and bravely faced the test. Seeing so much of herself in him when she was younger, smiling warmly, Rose asked him to join the KoB under her sponsorship. After a deep bow, young Bane accepted and then bolted toward the stairs screaming “ A Hero is born!”

Months have passed since Aragon and Bane joined KoB. Members of KoB and many friends have gathered, under the brilliant blue skies, at the Shrine of Justice to partake in a time honored tradition. Knights, Warriors, Rangers and Battle mages, all dressed in their best plate armor, crimson sashes and cloaks adorned, followed Mystic Rose in procession into the Shrine.

Welcoming members and friends, Rose begins the ceremony by calling forward Aragorn and his sponsor Beowolf, forward. She speaks with great fondness as she recalls Aragorn’s days with KoB. His success and contributions to the Guild he now calls home.
Smiling Rose presents Aragorn with his crimson cloak. A symbol of his new rank as Battle mage. Shouts of congratulations raise and echo within the walls of the Shrine.

Beowolf and Aragorn return to their places among their brothers and sisters. Rose clears her throat and calls forward her squire Bane and Vice Guildmaster Vega to stand in as his sponsor. With overwhelming feelings of pride, Rose spoke of her amazement at how that scrawny boy, who refused to disarm at the tower, had grown into a brave young warrior. She spoke of his bravery and undying enthusiasm. With tears of pride in her eyes, Rose presented Bane with his crimson cloak to symbolize his new rank of Warrior.
A cheer rose from the crowd in attendance, but heard above all voices was that of young Bane “A Hero is born!”

Bane the Warrior!
Bane pulled himself up again from the cold stone. He looked down at himself to see his blood pour out of him along with his fame and his pride. He started to put on his equipment again what was left of it. His once great tunic had been pounded into what now looked like a can and he left that on the ground. Buckles were snapped and broken, the shine of them gone and replaced with the smear of oil and blood.

Bane gritted and spitted out yet more blood. His eyes glanced over at the line of his enemies. They all stood there in their glory. Jeering and mocking. Laughing and pointing at the wreck Bane had come. How had he fallen from them? They congratulated themselves by slapping each other on their backs…and commenting on the quality of Bane’s armor.

Bane tied on what was left as best he could. Maybe it wasn’t the best but it had been given to him by good friends. They would be shocked to see it now. The last couple of fights were a blur and Bane remembered only being hit harder then he ever had before and watched as his shield and armor was disintergrated.

The laughing didn’t stop and Bane wondered when the torture would end. Then he glanced at Mystic Rose. His sponsor. Her expression was grim and not laughing. Her eyes, cold piercing blue steel challenged him. It would end when Bane said it would end they said.

Bane picked up his twisted rod that used to be a war axe and beckoned the next. I will endure. I will overcome. Let the pride wash through me and their jeering and laughing cloeanse me. The next opponent was another shining Knight…who showed no mercy as he showed Bane true power. With strength and speed he beat upon Bane, chasing him down over and over until Bane once again hit the dirt.

He picked his things up again and did not look at his foes. He could not face them. The pride was gone and shame had filled the great void. When would it end?? When Bane said. He looked up at the field and there again stood Rose. She had her mace out and her eyes danced their challenge.

Bane rose to that challenge and faced her. How does one face a dragon or a mighty Balron? How does one face sure death? Bane surprised himelf to hear a low laugh come from somewhere. Rose laughed also and her first blow shattered his shield. Bane countered and she met his blow squarely. Her next blow landed on Bane’s chest and his breath exploded out of him. He was in the dirt yet again.

The laughing continued as Bane left most of his worthless gear. There was nothing left to fight in. He stood before the others and waited for the next fight. His lips parched. Then he heard a voice, someone was beckoning him. Bane saw a wiry man in black calling him. The man put armor and weapons into Bane’s hands..helping him fasten it. This armor was new, strong steel from mines unknown. The man smiled and withdrew as Bane heard the next challenge.

“Bane!” shouted Sirus…Knight Commander. Bane let his rage build as once again he stood in the arena. Knights? Friends? Bane had none. They lied to him. They pretended to be friends and now they laughed, jeered, pointed and ridiculed. Rage Bane did not know he possessed poured into him. His grip tightened over his new war axe. It was not bent, it was like part of Bane’s arm. Now would be different.

He charged and Sirus started to bathe him in unholy fire. The pain buried itself on Bane’s scars though and he was relentless as he smited Sirus over and over. The anger overwhelmed him and he felt nothing. No pain and no weariness. “Yield!” Sirus yelled as Bane looked over him. Sirus was in the dirt and the fire in Bane died. Silence. He looked up at his foes and saw their smiles. There was no jeering…there never had been. They were his brothers who rushed forward to congratulate Bane. They lifted him up. The same ones that had beaten him slapped him on his back and called his name. “Bane! Well done!”.

Sirus joined them and Bane was again overwhelmed…not with anger but friendship. He looked and found Rose laughing and waving to him as she walked off with the dark stranger that brought Bane his new armor and weapons.

“I am a warrior.” Thought Bane.

Revenge From the Depths
A New Friend

Beowolf had returned from hunting to find a note stuck to the door with an arrow. Scrawled in blood was a warning that unless he never again troubled the ranks of the undead or demonkind, Mawgwaine would suffer in the extremes. Such an affront would not go unanswered, rather than step back he would press the assault. Mawgwaine would have done the same he felt sure.

And so it was that the Knights of Britannia rode forth in thunder and fury behind their fearsome leader Mystic Rose into the depths of the Dungeon Fire. There they stood toe to toe with the some of the vilest creatures in any mages tome, a group of liches and their lords, and demons beyond counting. Again and again the creatures pressed their assault, and time and again they were laid waste by sword and brimstone.

Valiant as the Knights were one and all, no information was forthcoming from those insidious beasts, loyal to their masters through death and beyond. Beo continued his hunting and asked that all of the honor-bound assist him by doing likewise, even going so far as to post a heavy bounty on any information that might be found.

After days of hunting, he had only one shred of paper to show for his tireless efforts. Worse, on close inspection he found that the writings on the map meant nothing to him.

He scoured the countryside for a sage of learning in the dark arts that would volunteer their knowledge. Tired and distraught he made his way to the woods near Yew, and discovered something strange. New villains the Juka, and Dragoons of Chaos filled the streets. Many were the swords that were raised against them; among them was StormMyst a new recruit to the folds of KoB. Not daunted by her inexperience she threw herself into the fray and Beo was compelled to leave his troubles for a bit and stand at her side. But it soon became evident that this was new treachery and had no bearing on his quest.

Resolved to make and end to Mawgwaines capture so that he could devote himself to protecting the land of his childhood, he found another bard as he was leaving Yew. Bilbo Baggins, very short, very unassuming, and yet full of knowledge specific to maps.

At once he enlisted his aid, and asked him to go to the Knights, glean what could be gleaned from the maps they had collected and send word via the ravens to Yew when there was word. He then sent Bilbo on his way to the Tower of the Knights to join there counsels and help as he might.

Revenge from the Depths
The Abduction

Mawgwaine brushed a stray lock of red hair from her emerald green eyes as she crossed the patio towards the doors. Today’s rounds of shopkeepers had been exhausting, funny how much more stock was needed on Mondays than any other. Passing the verite tables with their deep green swirls of color in the stone, she noticed several of the display trophies seemed slightly out of place.

“Hmmm Fellucias moon must be waning for my enchantments of holding to have slipped so much. Id better do a little research before I set things to rights.” She mused to herself, then her breath caught in her throat. The front door was slightly ajar. “Curse that absent minded craftsman, I KNOW I closed this when I left.” She gripped the handle to the door firmly and pushed. “VULCAN!” she was listing for the sounds of the smith upstairs, and staring at the ceiling, willing him down to her wrath.

“Ah”, she jumped at the sound of an irritably nasal voice, and found a man in his prime, resplendent in robes of deep blue with silver trim which matched his flowing hair, seated at the Polished gray stone table in the center of the living area. He lounged very casually, insolently even, at the head of the table. At the side of his chair was the largest dog Mawg had ever seen ash gray on color with some charcoal splotching, and eyes of pure yellow. Its tongue lolled lazily between enormous fangs, as it stared at her intently. “Look, Hyretick, we have the pleasure of the fiery one.”

The hair on her arms was standing as if in chill. “Gentlemen, I am sorry if there was inconvenience for you on gods day, but rest assured all the merchants I supply are fully stocked now.” He gave her a slight smirk. “I would be happy to provide transport to any shop you like.”

The man simply raised his left hand in a leisurely fashion, and though she could discern no workings of magic Mawg’s stomach fell to the floor. As she turned towards the door she heard the snap of fingers but loud as the breaking of bough from tree. The door open, and her hands and a foot already outside, she turned to see the hound in what seemed an impossible leap. His forepaws landed squarely in between her shoulder blades forcing her head forward into the heavy wood door. Then she was crushed beneath one forepaw of the dog and enveloped in the copper tainted stench of violence as the man sauntered towards her across the floor, then his feet left the ground entirely. He floated towards her and a shimmering yellow light surrounded him and the dog. As it faded it revealed a corpse with rotting flesh and wispy hair and eyes the jet color of ebony orbs, its yellowed toenails and rotting feet inches from her face. Atop her back was the large hand of a creature nearly as dark as the eyes of the lich, with splotches of ash gray skin where it was scarred and tattered bat-like wings that nearly covered the entirety of the bricked porch.

“We came for him,” a voice like a sandstorm intoned beside her, “but being a pest as well, you will be a more valuable tool.” And darkness enveloped her.

A Knighting
The sun sat lazily in the evening sky, as brave warriors, mages and knights began to gather at the KoB tower. Plate armor in pristine condition adorned with crimson cloaks and sashes. Tonight was to be a night of honor, a testament of loyalty, a night of tradition.

Guild Mistress Mystic Rose sat quietly, watching as the members of KoB filed in to the main chamber of the tower. Pride filled her heart as she looked from one face to another. The Knights of Britannia still stood strong and proud. Brave knights of early days still standing strong, setting examples for young new squires, guiding them on their paths. She watched as greetings were exchanged, this truly was more than just a guild ...... it is a Family.

Sirus whispered his words of magic. A swirling cobalt mist appeared and the members of KoB entered it’s embrace. Rose watched as members and friends took their places in front of the Shrine of Justice for the procession of Honor. With a gentle reminder to remove a hat here and a weapon there, Rose began the procession into the Shrine. The warmth of this tradition filled all that entered the shrine.

Standing before the gathered members of the guild, Rose thanked one and all for attending. She spoke of days gone by, of the tradition and honor of the ceremony about to begin. She spoke of the pillars that were the backbone of KoB.. Honor, Loyalty and Justice and of the many brave Knights that have walked the path that brings us to this ceremony tonight.

Rose called forward Bill Alric and Beowolf as his sponsor. Rose began the Knighting Ceremony by speaking of Bill’s growth not only in KoB but in himself. She spoke of his activities within KoB and of his proven leadership qualities. Rose relayed to all present Bill’s bravery and show of loyalty when confronted by ex members drawn to the darkness of evil. Bill stood his ground protecting fellow members of KoB, exacting Justice for deeds against the guild.

With great pride Rose, presented Bill Alric a Crimson Sash of Knighthood. A sash to be worn with honor and pride to signify his new rank as Knight of KoB. With the completion of the Guild motto, thunderous cheers filled the air welcoming Bill Alaric as the newest Knight of the Knights of Britannia. Rose invited all present back to the KoB tower to continue the celebration as tradition called for.

As the members of KoB proceeded from the shrine, each would pause. Listening closely in the halls of the shrine, echoes of many a brave Knights’ stories can still be heard. In true KoB tradition another was added tonight never to be forgotten.

And Only the Brave shall Stand!
As the stars began to bust forth from the darkened sky, members of KoB gathered at the tower. The mood encompassing this guild of friends, this family was light and cheerful. Jokes and laughter filled the air. The main doors opened and 2 members of Order of the Crimson Wolf walked in. Tara, a rare beauty, on a stunning white unicorn, followed by Lord Caravelle. Rose had invited them to join in on the hunt and to meet KoB.

The time drew near, Beowolf gave final instructions to the gathered troops . Jim opened a shimmering cobalt gate to Deep Water Bay and then another to the depths of Hyloth.

The group was viciously attacked as soon as they set foot into the deamon room of worship. But fear not fair reader! Evil deamons stand no chance against the brave and virtuous members of KoB. In no time at all not an evil creature stood!

All Hail KoB!!!

And only one shall survive!
As dust began to settle onto the horizon , pigeons where sent out. The notes attached stated simply "it is Time!." The members of KoB began filtering into the guild tower. Tonight was the night that Bill Alric had been preparing for. His studies where near complete, his sponsor, Beowolf, confident that the time was right.
Into the combat field Bill stepped, proudly facing GuildMistress Mystic Rose. "Bill, your sponsor tells us you are ready for this final step toward promotion within our ranks. All present agree. In a moment you will face the elementals that roam our lands. One by one you must defeat the challenge they present. Are you ready?" asked Rose. With a look of pride and determination on his face Bill replied " Aye M’Lady! My sword speaks for me!" With that Rose turned to Theo and motioned for the creatures to be summoned .

And the Dance began. Bill swiftly and gracefully defeated earth, water and air with bow in hand. As Theo summoned fire, Bill began to weave his own spells highlighting his versatility as a warrior as fire was swiftly put to rest.

Congratulations Bill Alric!!!

KoB aides Britannia miners
The mining caves west of Trinsic, near Deep Water Bay, were becoming increasingly dangerous . Bodies of miners were being discovered lifeless in alarming numbers. Savages were advancing into the once quiet mining area with a boldness unseen before.

The Britannia Council of Miners called an emergency meeting. The savages had to be stopped, the miners were losing too many lives, too much money. In a unanimous decision The council chose to employ the Knights of Britannia to clear the area of the ruthless Savages.

The call to duty was sent out and the members of the KoB gathered at the Guild Tower. Many old faces answered the call as well as some new. Knight Captain Sirus Falden called out orders and the KoB headed to Deep Water Bay. Immediately on arrival the group was confronted by several savage scouts. The group quickly cleared the area and orders were given to travel into the last known location of the Savages’ camp.

Lifeless savage bodies lie in the wake as the group progressed into the swamps. A noticeable increase in the number of savages signaled they were approaching the savage camp. Warriors, Archers and Mages working as a team cut through the growing numbers of savages. Sirus shouted orders to regroup as the camp came into site. Building by building the group confronted and eliminated those responsible for the death of the miners.

Secure in the knowledge the savages were defeated, the group returned to the Deep Water Bay. The head of the Miners council praised the KoB for a job well done with swiftness and honor. He presented the Guild with a check for 200,000 gp to aid in future ventures. The group returned to the Guild Tower to celebrate the accomplishments of the day and to prepare for the next call to aide those in need.

Knights of Britannia’s New Guildmistress: Mystic Rose
It was two days ago the Knights of Britannia assembled upon the grassy plains at the shrine of Justice. For generations this ceremony heralded a new age, or era in the history of KOB. It was this night a member of the guild that started as a humble squire would take to heart the pillars of justice, honor and loyalty and ascend to the rank of guildmistress. Her name is Mystic Rose, a tailor from the town of Delucia.

We shall not dismiss so easily a lowly and humble tailor. For in the remembrance of previous guildmasters, Sirus was once a mere blacksmith from Cove, and Saliador, just a scribe from Moonglow. Even Gil Shatterstone was once but a shy carpenter before his calling. From such individuals would forge the continued history of the guild. Rose continues to have a hand in bringing new squires into the fold, training (cultivating rosebuds), and coordinating guild events in addition to the guild’s public relations and Knight Trials.

Gil Shatterstone, Guildmaster of KOB and Dragon Knight proudly stood at the base of the shrine as Sirus would stand in as Rose’s sponsor. Along the names of the honor guard that payed homage were Jorus, Furie, Duergar, and Iberon from the eldest generations. Well seasoned knights, Vega, Cabal Jr., Zubrette, and Beowolf, stood ready and most recent additions to the guild, Dagoth, Kal’ Ferin and Kildair completed the guard in stellar formation.

With that Gil’s last act as the 8th Guildmaster in the 60 plus years that KOB was established, was to present Rose with the Shield award. Unsheathing Falden’s Blade, Gil dubbed Mystic Rose as KOB’s new Guildmistress. Gil surrendered KOB’s symbolic artifact to Rose and humbly stepped down and took his place, welcomed back and honored among his fellow brethren knights. Some would even say the echos of the founders were present to witness the event. The future of the guild is in good hands.

Congratulations Mystic Rose, 9th Guildmistress of KOB

Answering the call
The ribbons of pink and purple of dusk were laying gracefully upon the horizon, as the members of KoB gathered at the tower. Playful skirmishes rang throughout the tower's halls, members chatted about the happenings in their lives over the past week and voices rang out with birthday wishes for Cabal, Jr. Concern began to grow as Mystic Rose and Kal'Ferin did not arrive as expected. They were the ones who planned tonight's gathering. Pigeons were sent out to both of them but replies did not return.

Suddenly, through the main doors of the tower entered a Royal Knight. Begging pardon for his intrusion, he introduced himself as Sir Gilimond from the court of Lord Brittish. He had been dispatched to inform the Knight's of Britannia, that while Kal'Ferin was escorting Lady Cattie Brie home they were attacked and gravely injured by controllers and golems. Mystic Rose hearing of the attack rushed to Trinsic to tend to the wounds of her sister and her squire. Sir Gilimond assured the members that all were safe and reassured Sirus that his wife was well and sent her love.

Sir Gilimond turned to address Guildmaster Gil Shatterstone. He informed Gil that he was also sent with a request from Lord Brittish. It seemed information had been obtained that elder creatures of the realm may be aiding the controllers and golems in their attempt to take over our lands. Lord Brittish was seeking aid from the established guilds to thin the numbers of these elder beasts. Gil immediately accepted the request in the name of the KoB.

Because the task ahead was so daunting, Sir Gilimond suggested the group divide into two. Each group would be assigned a task and once completed would return to meet Sir Gilimond at Empath Abbey where he would be meditating and watching over the groups missions. Gil, Vega, Jim and Dagoth were dispatched to the depths of Fire. While Sirus, Cabal, Jr, Zubrette and Kildair traveled to the dungeon of Covetous.

Their first task completed the groups made their way to the Abbey where they found Sir Gilimond deep in thought. Pleased the groups completed their missions so quickly, Sir Gilimond asked if they would be willing to continue in their aide to Lord Brittish. All present gave a resounding Aye! Praising the groups for their courage, Sir Gilimond dispatched one group to the depths of the dungeon Hyloth and the other to the wilds of Titan Valley.

Both groups fought valiantly and soon returned to the Abbey once again. Sir Gilimond was growing concerned that the task may be too difficult as he watched these brave men and women of KoB enter the Abbey battered and bruised. As they sat before him he contemplated calling an end to this mission. His heart soared as he listened to the excitement in their voices retelling tales of their battles.

The skies grew darker into night, as Sir Gilimond gave the groups one final task, one group was sent to the depths of Despise dungeon and the other was sent to Covetous for the evil was growing there once again. Pride overflowed as the groups, worked as one in completing their final tasks. Each member knowing they were protecting our lands from the evils that were growing.

Returning to the Abbey triumphant, the groups were tired and worn, but exhilarated all at once. Sir Gilimond expressed his gratitude for the bravery and courage that abounds within KoB. He thanked each member individually as each was presented a reward in the name of Lord Brittish.

The members of KoB returned to their home, the KoB tower rich with tradition and honor, sharing with one another the victories that befell them this night. No one seemed to notice sitting quietly in the corner thrones Mystic Rose and Kal’Ferin as they looked at their fellow brothers and sisters with pride, knowing they made the right decision directing Sir Gilimond to the KoB tower all those hours ago.

Moment Of Silence
We gathered at the Shrine of Sacrifice in honor of all those who lost their lives and loved ones and for those who sacrifice now in the task of searching.

Following our moment of silence we accepted an invitation from The Temple of Mondain to come together in fellowship. Many spoke of their losses and their feelings. The fellowship ended with a poem by Mystic Rose.

Stand United

Open our hearts and let it be known,
If we come together we can overcome.
Spread our love across the world,
Show the strength and dignity we hold.

Tragedy is shown before our eyes,
But what will remain is our pride.
We will not surrender for what we keep,
Our freedom will battle to defeat.

We shall only kneel to our prayers,
For God to render all that we bare.
we shall not show the coward's fear,
For unity will calm our panic of tears.

We shall stand up for what we adore,
Our strength will shine from shore to shore.
God will bless each and every heart,
And guide us with strength to a new start.

Spread the love and join each hand,
"United States Of America" we proudly stand.
If we hold our flag above all that is shown,
We can prove our strength of home sweet home.

In Search of the Shadow Mongbat
Pigeons flew throughout our lands last eve, As Iberon summoned all available members of KoB to the tower. The gathering Knights, Mages, Warriors and Squires milled about the tower talking in hushed tones to one another. No one had answers to Iberon’s mysterious pigeon messages.

All fell silent as Iberon appeared. Iberon began by thanking all the brave members of KoB for answering his plea and requested all sit as he began his explanation of the messages. Iberon explained an incident he had a year ago this very night, deep in the Bowels of the dungeon Hyloth. A most vicious creature confronted him. He stated he was struck down even before getting a good look at the creature. He later learned that the creature, this stealer of life was known only by older warriors of our lands as the Shadow Mongbat. It struck with a swiftness never seen before; death was almost a certainty for all that attempted to confront the beast. He relayed tales from several warriors as to this brutal force. He finally put forth his request.. In upholding the pillars of KoB it was our sworn duty to attempt to defeat this ever-elusive stealer of life, the Shadow Mongbat. Due to the nature of this quest, Iberon left the decision up to each individual weather to accompany him or not. Every KoB member present vowed his or her support.

Emerging from the cobalt mist, the group arrived at the entrance to the dungeon Hyloth. With final instructions from Iberon, the group entered the dungeon. They were met with various creatures of hell attempting to stop their progress. The brave group fought on. The deeper into the dungeon they traveled, the creatures became relentlessly vicious. Battered and bruised, the group from KoB would not stop. Deeper and deeper they traveled into the Bowels of Hell, until finally they had arrived at the last know spot that the Shadow Mongbat had been spotted.

Iberon sent out a final warning as the group crossed the bridge. Out of nowhere with a swiftness only he had seen once before, the group began to fall. Mages and warriors alike never knew what hit them. As death came upon them, they caught a glimpse of this stealer of life. Several in the group managed to escape; they collected their fallen brothers and sisters and returned to the safety of home.

Iberon looked proudly over the faces of his brothers and sisters, as they vowed this quest would never be concluded until the Shadow Mongbat is destroyed once and for all.

Thanks go out to: Sirus, Iberon, Mystic Rose, Vega, Sir Magnus, Ifrit, Jopte, Sean the Black and Cherry Coke.

ASSASSIN (Continues)
Called to Answer
Standing in the halls of the KOB at its Stone of Loyalty, seeing all the names of those that have
lived and died KOB, something began to become clear within the young man’s mind. Two
Knights he had already taken, one was left. But what about these others? Though the original
three deserved the justice that was to be handed out, what of these others. Hadn’t they too been a
part. They might not have actually had a hand in it, but surely they were just as responsible.
After all, are they not brothers and sisters in arms as well as deeds?
He continued to read the names, seeing the faces of each betrayer. Three would not be enough he
knew. More would have to be sacrificed before justice was done. The complete destruction of
the knights was all he could see. For it was the Knights who commanded in KOB, it was the
Knights that approved or disapproved of actions. The Knights council in its entirety must be
called to justice! "No", he whispered, "three will not bring my honor back. All must be called to
answer."
Returning home he sat heavily within his chair, knowing that what must be done was for the
good of the Guild. This did not weight lightly upon his shoulders but he saw no way out but to
cleanse the entire Council for the evil he saw growing, lurking just underneath.
Elsewhere (at the very same moment)................
Deep within the earth, down hallways long forgot to the age of legends, stands a door. Gradually
a thin blue light begins to caress its outline, growing stronger with every passing second. Mice
scurry away as if being chased by something unseen. At first the sound is unrecognizable, but as
the light grows, so does the sound. Its unmistakable. The laughter is filled with malice, echoing
down the hall, knowing soon, it shall be free once again.

The Trap is set
Sweat pouring down this tan arms, muscles rippling as he sharpened the blade on the grinding
stone, "This will do fine, very fine indeed." The kyrsses blade glimmered in the sun, so sharp and
deadly. "Thank you for letting me use your shop." he told the jhelom shopkeeper. It was then that
A man walked in the door. "Seems the Knights are gathering at the Tower. Word is you've been
spotted about the lands." "So they are coming for me? They know who I am?" the lad replied.
"No, they are just going on guard. They know you watch the Tower, so they are laying a trap for
you."
Gathering up his new weapons, the young man left his informer to prepare for battle. First he
decided, he would stealth about the tower area and see what he could see. Summoning magic to
create a doorway to a safe location close to the tower, he approached the Tower. Only one
Knight, Hettar did he spy, and he was on foot.
Springing into action, spells flew at the Hettar. He was ready though, the magic the assassin
summoned did little to harm him. It was when the blade came out that he could see shock within
Hettar’s face. Here was a tactic the Knight was unprepared for nor expecting.
Barring down on Hettar with a combination of sword and sorcery. Hettar stood his ground but
was on the defensive, no time for a counter attack. For a short while Hettar was able to withstand
the onslaught, but the assassins furry was to fast, to strong to stand against. He died defending
the Tower.
Returning to the Tower to once again to view the list of names on the stone. The lad ran into a
Knight that he had previously taken a soul from. Knowing that Sir Matthew could not kill him as
long as he held his soul, He continued with his task. Surprisingly Sir Matthew attacked. Easily
causing the death of this Sir Matthew, the lad was shocked to see a ranger, Beowolf, appear.
Realizing that this must have been the trap laid for him the young man flew into action. Beowolf
held up well for a very short time. But had to retreat due to the powers that the assassin weaved
upon him. Around the castle he ran, losing the assassin somewhere in the chase.
Returning to the corpse of Sir Matthew to mark his victim, Beowolf again sprang out of
nowhere. The assault on the assassin was staggering. Beowolf wielded a bow and warhammer
with great proficiency. But not enough to take the lad out of the game. It was then that another
KOB Warrior, Malis, showed up. Another archer wielding a heavy crossbow.
This was too much for the assassin. The assault he was enduring, gave no chance for him to get
out. It was all or nothing. Beowolf, hurt badly, was about to go down, when a well placed shot
from Malis stopped the assassin’s spell in mid cast. This gave Malis the time he needed to heal
Beowolf. In the confusion that followed the lad made his escape from the tower. Once again the
assassin slipped through the fingers of the brave members of KOB..... Or so he thought.

Stroll into the mist of Evil
As Mystic Rose followed the lad from a distance, her mind whirled with thoughts of her fallen
brothers. “This plan has to work” she thought out loud. Sirus has yet to return from what Rose
felt was a foolish trip to speak to Dublin. No one had expected the assassin to attack again so
soon. As her mind drifted to thoughts of her husband alone at the Temple of the Black Dragon,
Rose lost sight of the lad. Digging her heals into the sides of her faithful steed, she picked up
her pace. Rose soon found the lad’s trail. He made a brief stop in the City of Trinsic, receiving
the aid of a healer. The lad then headed north east of the city. To Rose’s horror she watched as
he entered the Temple of the Cult of the Black Dragon. It was all beginning to make more sense
now. By killing the knights one by one, only strengthens the Black Ones hold on our lands..
Rose sat for a moment thinking to herself “How does one approach a temple of evil?” The Bold
approach, she decides. Rose strides up to the door where she is greeted by 2 murdering cult
members. One, Azure, she did not recognize, But standing on the stairs was the familiar face of
Kandalor, whom she remembered from her days at the Sandlewood Tavern. “Mystic Rose so
nice to see you. What brings you to our doorstep M’lady?” asks Kandalor with a slight chuckle
in his voice. Steadying her voice Rose replies “ I’ve a matter I need to discuss with you in
private.” “I hear through Andrew Bishop you’ve settled down and gotten married.” Kandalor
grins. “There was never a thing that needed to be settled down about me, But yes I was married.
Now are you going to continue to be rude or are you going to invite me in to discuss matters?”
“After you of course M’lady.” Kandalor says as he steps to open the door .Chuckling to himself
at the boldness of this poet he remembers fondly from long ago.
A sense of uneasiness overwhelms Rose as she enters the Temple. “ Well Rose I never thought
I’d ever see you within these walls.” remarks Kandalor “There are alot of things in life we never
expect to see.” retorted Rose. Chuckling Kandalor asks “So what is this matter that you need to
discuss?” Toying with the ring on her finger, trying to steel her nerves. Rose replies “ As you’ve
heard an assassin has been attempting to kill my brothers and sisters of KOB, he has succeeded
3 times now. He made another attempt today, fortunately we were ready. It is now known he
seeks comfort in the arms of your Cult.” “ And how do you come to believe this?” Kandalor
chuckles. “He was followed here, and watched as he freely walked through your doors. I’ve
come to ask that you turn him over to KOB, so that we may deal with him.” A laugh erupts from
Kandalor, as well as the 3 other cultist that entered the room unseen. “ And what makes you
think if he were here we would just hand him over for your form of Justice?” Chuckled
Kandalor. Seizing up the situation, Rose replies “ I ask one more time Kandalor, turn him over to
us or we will be forced to take him.” Kandalor grins and says “ He’ll never be turned over for
your brand of justice.” mounting her horse Rose turns and replies as she cast a spell of recall “
Then I hope you live through your decision!” The erupting laughter of the cultist echoed in her
ears as the spell took her safely back to the KOB tower.
The Pain of Failure
Hurt, weak, and tired, the young lad made his way slowly back to the hidden passage behind the
stairs. Down dark hallways, past sounds of things scurrying away from as his feet traveled
further on. He began to see the bluish light gleaming from between the cracks of the door. He
knew it would not be pleased.
As the door opened to allow him entrance, the wave of light that hit him did not bring the peace
of mind as it had always done. "You have failed me" it spoke to him. Pain raked over his already
bruised body. Pain so great it dropped him to the cold stone floor. Light seemed to explode
within his mind. "You must not fail me again." it said. More pain. "I allowed you to return to me
for you are not done. You have yet to bring me all the souls of the Knights. Bring them to me! If
you fall to a Knight, it is your soul I shall keep."
After what seemed an eternity the pain stopped. "Y-yes master." he whimpered. The voice no
longer talked to him peacefully. It was icy now, cold as the floor he lay on. It told him what he
must do and where he must go. Fear gripped him from what it said. He did not wish to go there
but knew that to disobey would bring more pain. He knew he would do as he was told.

A Knight's Journey part II

"Yes, I figured that out all by myself. Dublin, someone is hunting down each of the more seasoned
members of the guild and killing them. No one lives to see him and forensics is giving us no
clues as to who the assailant is." Sirus looked over Dublin's shoulder while lying in the cot.
Eowen simply stood just outside the doorway as a vampire would in hopes of being invited in so
that she may consume her prey. In truth had Dublin not been a women, one that Eowen had a high
and rare respect for, she would have tossed caution to the wind and sought out Sirus's swift
destruction.

"I'm running out of options.", continued Sirus. "You need my help.", retorted Dublin. Sirus
pointed a finger, his jaw opening to deliver his rebuttal but just as quickly retracted. "Yes,
I need your help. I think this is a bit above my area of expertise." Eowen started sipping tea
from a crude looking mug as they continued talking. "So your assassin does not take anything
from his kills, not an item, or even a body part? He could have a personal vendetta with the
entire guild, but he's selective to weed out your more seasoned veterans. Either he is being
paid or he on a crusade. In either case he has to be keeping records of where your guild mates
live, when they come and go, what skills they use. He's also warning his victims before striking.
Such things are a part of his own code of honor. If I were you, I would suggest you keep watch
on his next target and where he frequents. If a familiar face is hanging about then that's your
man. Finally, if he is using a KOB guild house then search for anything that may be his personal
note."

Sirus already felt better. It was a rare thing that his former student was bright in her wisdom
and understanding of things. As Dublin handed Sirus the rest of his belongings he gave Dublin
that special look that caused a twinkle in his eye. With a nod Dublin softly spoke, "Go ahead,
I won't tell." Sirus softly chanted a low level spell that Dublin was all too familiar with. She
closed her eyes and lowered her head pitching her ear long enough to hear the cup next to Eowen
give a little nudge from it's place. With that Sirus bid Dublin farewell. "You know, it would be
good to see you at Forums." Dublin nodded and noticed Eowen take another sip.

Chanting words of power Sirus found himself transported outside the temple doors. With a touch to
his erethal statue, his mount formed beside him. He mounted and rode off toward the direction of
Trinsic. Eowen joined Dublin. "You know I was hoping you would let me play with him a bit before
letting him go." Eowen swirled the tea in her cup and finished her drink. Dublin purposely
avoided eye contact with her and stared out the window. "Oh, I think you'll get your chance soon
enough. Word from on high is that we are at the brink of war with KOB. Such is the direction of
the Black One." Both of them smiled at the thought, except Eowen's teeth were stained a deep
black from the scribes ink Sirus conjured into her cup. Sirus slowed his pace just a bit and
laughed to himself as he heard Eowen's scream.

A Knight’s Journey
Normally Sirus Falden could walk into just about any hostile territory just long enough to size up a situation. After many years and many walks of life, he could tell when a certain stranger loitering at the Britain moongate was more than just a homeless man, or when an "honest" merchant attempted to sell him a wonderful weapon for more gold than the weapon would ever earn, or when an opportunist kept an ever watchful eye upon an over confident adventurer.

"This trip would be no different." Sirus kept telling himself. It was apparent that his air of confidence was not even fooling himself. He knew full well that he was giving himself away. His palms were cold and the bad feeling he had washed down to his very core. What didn't help the most was that it seemed that no one was around. He didn't feel like he was being watched and that worried him. After a few moments of scanning the area yet again, Sirus dismounted. He watched his erethal mount vanish and felt his pack take the weight of the miniature materialize within his pack.

"The only way to catch is an assassin, is to consult with one." Sirus thought a moment and gave the temple doors a good pounding. Sirus humored himself. "How does one properly announce his arrival at a temple of evil cultists?" His own answer was the bold approach. "Show them no fear and I may stay alive long enough to make a quick escape." As much as he hated to, Sirus slipped off his wedding band from Rose and placed it within a small recess of his spellbook. It was small enough to be carried with the book, as it was bound to his soul in case something went terribly wrong. A moment longer and his finger would have another ring upon it. This one was yet another piece of insurance.

The door to the Temple of the Black One opened and the figure that emerged was unfamiliar to him. Sirus could not detect the radiating evil he so commonly expected from dull witted thieves and brigands. No he was different. The man before him stood eye to eye in height and perhaps a few years younger than Sirus. This man was calm and serious. Sirus could not tell exactly how much weight he carried amongst the cultists but knew better than to make a premature judgement.

"My name is Sirus Falden of the Knights of Britannia. I've come seeking an audience with Dublin." The figure's eyes widened a moment and responded in kind, "Yes, I've heard of you. Last time you graced us with your presence, you rode your steed in here, disgraced our order, and stole property that did not belong to you." Sirus countered, "That property was my guildmaster. It was a personal matter. I believe I would not be standing here today had Kandalor not allowed it." The figure looked behind him as if to exchange a look. "Why would Dublin wish to see you?" "I seek answers from her, as a friend, and from trainer to student. Surely you could understand that?" The figure motioned him in. "You will follow me, deviate from me, and you will not leave here alive."

Sirus nodded and proceeded into the temple. This would be the first time Sirus would be able to take a long look inside the structure. This was not the hideout of thieves and murderers that he thought it was. The interior was as majestic as it was clean. Sirus had always associated the dark arts with filth and disorder. The many doors that lead to long corridors opened quietly, the few rooms he could glance into were neat and orderly. Some rooms were even well lit and almost made no distinction between those rooms and areas of the KOB guild tower.

Sirus continued to follow. "I don't think I heard your name." "El Gringo", was his only response. As El Gringo swiftly rounded a corner he vanished. Causally Sirus judged the direction that he must have continued on and took a few steps to the next intersection. Immediately Sirus felt shock and then pain under his nose. Slowly opening his mouth, the last thing he thought he saw was two of his teeth fall to the carpet shortly before he blacked out and met the floor himself.

Eowen sheathed her katana, removed the ringmail glove and tried to shake the minor surge of pain from her fist. El Gringo stepped forward, beginning to chant a minor healing spell when she retracted her hand. "No. This feels much too good to dismiss so quickly." Eowen nursing her hand looked upon the fallen knight and smiled. "That was for the last time you came here. And this is for Raticker." Eowen swiftly plunged her foot into his side. El Gringo exchanged a glance at Eowen. "A personal matter?" Eowen simply nodded and walked off. El Gringo motioned William forward. "Put him in a cell. Oh...and tell Dublin she has a visitor."

Sirus woke up feeling a worldly curse but quickly remembered where he was, or at least where he thought he was. Opening he eyes slowly he could make out a women talking to a figure in front of her. The figure pointed at Sirus and she turned to approach him. Sirus was about to speak, but when the words left him he heard himself whistle. Dublin reached into a basin and handed Sirus his teeth. "I was able to stop the bleeding, and you have a broken rib. You won't feel it. I suggest you heal yourself." With that Dublin handed Sirus his pouch of regents. Sirus chanting words of power with a slight whistle almost made Dublin break out in a smile, but she did not falter. Sirus indulged in casting the create food spell. Out of thin air an apple appeared in his hands. Examining it carefully he took a bite and was relived that he felt no pain. "Yes Sirus, Eowen sends you her regards."

ASSASSIN
So it Begins

Sneaking into the clearing, watching the iron doors of the KOB Stronghold, the young lass waits for his target. Slowly over time he sees a few Knights enter and leave, but mainly the tower stands empty and deserted. Where have all the knights gone? What happened to its members? Pondering these questions she spies his target. A young kober, not even a warrior yet. As the target turns to enter the abandoned fortress, he strikes! Fast as the wind, silent as the night he summons powers from the depths of the abyss to rain down on this poor lad, slaying him even before he has time to wonder who is attacking him. Then with a flash he’s gone.

Back at his lodging, safe within its confines, he goes to a stone in the floor. Prying it up he removes an old leather bound book. Opening he searches for the name. Page by page until finally he sees it. "Ah, one down two to go" he whispers as he crosses out one name within the tome. Replacing the book he settles the stone back into its place. Lightly tapping it with his foot to make sure it is not discovered.

Resuppling goods from a local vendor, totally unprepared to face any possible target, up popped a KoB. This was neither Knight nor squire, but a keeper of KOB. Unknowing who this individual was our young lass decided to see if he could pass as a KoB himself. Sure enough, by throwing out a few names he fooled the man. After some small talk, the keeper turned to answer a question from a passing stranger, the young assassin made his move. With lightening speed magic flew from his hands. Death seemed for certain. But this man had other ideas. Calling on the powers himself, he conjured healing powers. It looked like the plan was about to backfire. Maybe this would be the end of the young lass. Calling more magic he began to get the edge on the Keeper. Still this man defended and did not fall. Dismounting the lass used his last resource. Dra!, he screamed, kill! As his trusty mount engaged the Keeper, the young assassin regained his magic powers. With a final blast the keeper f! ell silent as he tried to make good his escape.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, the lass remounted and galloped away. When he returned home he went to the hidden tome. Searching throughout its pages he could not find the name of this individual. Worried, he went through the book a second time. Still no name was to be found for the Keeper. What had he done, he killed a man without just cause. No good would come of this! Returning the book into its compartment and securing the stone he began to pace the floor nervously. Unsure of what to do he prayed.

Knights on the charge

The sun shown brightly while the air brought a cool breeze from the sea. The young assassin sat talking with a man outside a small villa. As the conversation dabbled on, he knew he was discovered. Sure enough, a KOB knight appeared, then another! Here was the test, two KOB knights faced the young lass. Undetermined he flew into action. Spells leaped forth but his carefully laid plan was not designed for TWO knights! Changing tactics the young man quickly took the life of the younger Knight. The second, more seasoned warrior drained the assassin of his magical properties and near slayed him. If it was not for the lasses speed, he surely would have died.

Retreating and resuppling he quickly returned to the small villa by the sea shore. Finding the older Knight still there recovering from his wounds the young assassin let loose his fury! Flames from the pits of hell itself reached up to engulf the warrior. It was to much for the Knight, he dropped before his abilities could save him.

Having accomplished his task the young lass returned to his hideaway. Feeling very sure of himself he strode to the secret compartment and removed the dark leather tome from within. Slowly, page by page he looked. There it was, both knights where within the tomb. Smiling softly he crossed out the names of these Knights. Only one name remained now. And it was this person that deserved justice the most. A Knight of great power, speed and cunning. Old in the ways of combat. The young man thought to himself, t'would be a shame to make his wife a widow, but what must be done, must be done.

Knights Council

The Eve was somewhat warm as we were called together. It seemed the knights were very concerned over who the assassin was. A few names where mention but dismissed. After much deliberation one man was singled out. Though no concrete evidence lay before us, it did not matter. We had our suspect. It took some time, some careful playing with words and ideas. But finally I had made them all see that it could only be one man. How simple a task really, to lay the blame at another’s feet. His own actions would just confirm their ideas. The stage has been set, the roles all cast. Time for the final scene.

A Journey Begun

Empty halls and dark shadows greet the lad as he entered the Tower, but he did not feel alone. Carefully he crept to the hidden passage behind the stair, watching every shadow as he went. The grinding of stone on stone seem extraordinary loud to him this day and fear that someone might hear began to crawl within his mind. Quickly ducking within the secret passage he closed the door hoping to close the sense of someone watching as well. It would not be so.

Down into the earth he went. No light lead his way nor was one needed. There was only one way to go, down, for what seemed forever. The darkness was comforting. It surrounded him, protected him. This darkness would not hurt him or betray him like the others did. Here he was safe, safe from those that would see him harmed.

The door shone strangely against the darkness. A thin bluish light could be seen tracing its outline. He was some distance away still but even here the glow seemed to wash over him, filling him with a power that he could not fail. Memories danced at the tip of his mind, some clear some but shadows. The time was growing close.

Washing over him like a tidalwave, the door seems to swing open of its own accord, spilling the bluish light all about him. It was brighter now, stronger. The warmth it gave him made him feel happy. He would not be alone for long. It told him more would come to help him. It told him not to worry about discovery. It told him it would take care of him. It told him .. many things.

As quickly as it touched him, it left. He stood within the archway. The door still standing wide. Opening his eyes he entered, striding over to the pillar where it stood. The dim light it now gave told of how much more he had to do. It would not be long though, all he needed was time and time was on his side. The faces within seemed to glare out at him. "Fear not knights" he whispered to it, "you shall have more company soon."

The three souls within seemed to scream out in anger, but there was no one to hear them.

Assistance from Within

Secure in the knowledge that there is no proof that he is the one the knights seek to stop, our young lad begins to pour over the information he has obtained on the next mark. "This one" he thinks "will be a most difficult man to kill." Not realizing he's speaking out loud, he mumbles "That dam tower is always locked, but there are plenty of places I can wait for him outside. It will be difficult with all the houses around but not impossible. Or, should I lure him somewhere else?"

Debating the possible places and times to achieve the next task, scribing them within a book on the man, his head snaps right as he hears someone enter the tower. Quickly closing the tome and stuffing it into his pack he greets the man as he approaches. "Have I been cleared sir?" he asks.

The man looks him over slowly. His eyes seem to pierce the very soul of our young assassin. "No" the man replies "Some think it is you while others think it is another. I do not know how long this deception can last of yours but if you are not careful you will be uncovered." "But how can they suspect me?" the young lad asks the man. "Some just want to believe it is you but not all are convinced. But no proof has yet to be found pointing one way or the other. Until we can prove it your secret is secure. But I warn you now, you are under watch." With that, the man bids his farewell and retires upstairs to one of the rooms.

"So they think it is I." the assassin whispers. "We will have to do something about that. Yes, yes we will have to do something." A smile crosses his lips as he hatches a new plan.

The Wedding of Sirus and Rose Falden
Not everything gets reported in a timely manner. This is one event that is indeed long overdue.

It was upon a clear evening, moments before dusk on March 17th when Sirus and Mystic Rose were wed in the small village of Cove. This was the hometown of Sirus and served as an ideal setting away from the hustle or the flair of the larger cities such as Britain or Nujelm. In a cozy ceremony, Rose and Sirus each pledged their own vows to each other as reflected in their rings. Rose's ring has the inscription, "Beyond Heaven where I share your smile" while Sirus's ring bears the inscription, "In Heaven too you will have my hand." Under a starry sky as the counselor pronounced them husband and wife.

Later in the evening the reception broke out in Nujelm. Many guests showed including some guild members of more shadowy repute. There was no incidents as even those guests were filled with the spirit for the new couple. The celebration lasted far into the night and into the waking hours of the morning.

"The Secret of Zandramas" Conclusion
Dublin knew where to find Eowen. After the events of last eve she would be seeking a way to
vent her frustration. As suspected Dublin found her “sister” Eowen in the Nujel’m jail, knee
deep in torturing the male prisoners. Eowen spotted her “sister” as she dropped the lifeless male
from her hand, “Hi Dub how’d you know where to find me?” “That, Eowen was simple.”
Dublin replied. “ I came to check on you and see what your plans were.”

Looking at Dublin with a slight smile Eowen replied “ Having some fun here and then I’ll get
the little witch, Metro, that KoB will be seeking for the cure for their precious Mystic Rose.
Zandaramas hid her well in the tower on Ice Isle. I plan to hold her at the keep until KoB returns
and then I’ll use Metro and her cure in exchange for a “toy”.” Dublin looked at Eowen and said
“ Why bother with the witch? KoB will never find her and with Mystic Rose blind she will
never use a mace again.” “ I have my reasons !” replied Eowen with a look of pleasure on her
face.

Late in the evening as predicted, the warriors of KoB returned to the Temple of the Black
Dragon seeking answers and vengeance for the attack on Mystic Rose. They could hear the
screams of help coming from within the keep. Cautiously making their way into the bowels of
the temple, the KoB warriors were surprised they met no resistance. Tentatively the Knights
made their way to the second floor lead by their Guildmaster, Gil Shatterstone. As Gil crested
the final few stairs and entered the room where the screams came from, he heard a door slam
behind him. Quickly turning he found himself alone, the door locked, and his guild on the
otherside with no way in.

From the corner of the room Gil hears a voice “ Well we meet yet again, Handsome.” Turning
slowly he is not surprised to see Eowen emerging from the shadows. “ I should have known you
would be behind all this.” Eowen doesn’t reply, but merely jestures to Gil to follow her. She
stops to reveal with a lustful smile, the witch Metro chained to the wall of the keep. “I have here
Gil, what you seek. This little witch is the secret that Zandramas took to her death. The witch
holds the only cure for your sweet little Mystic Rose.” Metro weakened by the torture she has
had to endure speaks softly “ Gil I beg you do as she says, save me. They have all been here
having their “fun” as Eowen stood and watched.”

“So Gil here is my offer, I give you the witch and her cure to save Rose in exchange for you.
You will be my slave for one week and after that time if you still wish to return to your KoB then
you will be free to go. If you refuse then the witch dies here and now.” Eowen says with a smile.
“May I have a moment to talk to my guild? “ Gil asks. “You have 2 minutes, or the death of the
witch begins.” Eowen replies matter of factly.

Within his allotted time Gil returned. Along side him stood Furie. Eowen raised an eyebrow “
Why is she here?” “Furie will take the Metro and the cure to safety” replied Gil. Suddenly
Furie tossed an explosion potion in an effort to break the chains that held Metro to the wall.
With the swiftness of a Hellcat Metro was struck dead by Eowen. “ I gave you a choice Gil, now
Rose will suffer for your stupidity, I hope you can live with your choice!” With that Eowen
vanished.

Staring in disbelief, Gil and Furie could not believe the plan had failed. “ Now how do we save
Rose?” Furie asked. With that the other warriors, as planned, stormed the temple. Shock took
over the group as they saw the body of the witch laying in a pool of blood upon the floor.
Before their eyes the corpse of the witch decayed. There laying on the on the floor in the middle
of the witches robes was a vial of glowing orange liquid. Beowolf grabbed the vial “Could this
be possible? Do you think this is the cure the witch spoke of?” he asked excitedly. Taking the
vial Gil replied “ There is only one way to find out. Lets head back to the Tower.”

“Rose the choice is yours” said Sirus. “ There really is no way of knowing if it is the cure or
not.” “ Well I don’t want to stay this way forever. I’m no use to any of you without my sight.”
Rose said with a weary smile. Kissing his wife gently, Sirus handed Rose the potion recovered
from Metro’s decayed corpse. Rose smiled at her husband and in one swift motion drank the
potion. A terrifying scream was heard as Rose collapsed to the floor. “Rose....Rose, Love are
you alright ?” Sirus asked as he cradled his wife in his arms. Slowly Rose’s eyes flutter open.
“ Oh how I’ve prayed to see those beautiful brown eyes again!” Rose exclaimed with a smile.

"The Secret of Zandramas"
"The Secret of Zandramas"
Part I

As the sun began to set, Mystic Rose looked around the summer tower pleased with her work.
Her new husband, Sirus, would be thrilled with the work she had completed. She smiled and
locked the door as she stepped out into the cool evening breeze. From the corner of her eye,
Mystic Rose caught a red blur. Spinning around mace instantly equipped, she was struck with
excruciating pain. Falling back against the door the realization struck her she was blinded.
An errie cackle filled the air. “ My master will be so pleased!” Jeered Zandramas, the newest
member of the Cult of the Black Dragon. “Tell your brothers and sisters, My dear Mystic Rose,
they can find us at the Temple of the Black One.” with that silence filled the air.

Mystic Rose calls out to her steed, grabbing his reins she stumbles in the direction of the main
Tower of the Knights of Britannia, she knows she will find her brothers and sisters there.
Weaken by the pain she falls to the dirt road. A hand gentle touches Rose’s cheek “ Are you
alright M’lady, let me help you.” it was the voice of Lyrana, a young girl from the nearby farm.
“Lyrana! I’ve been blinded, get me to the KoB tower.”

“Alright everyone settle down!” yelled Sirus over the voices of the gathering members of KoB.
“Has anyone seen my Rosie? she’s never late for meetings.” Sir Matthew pipes in “ I saw her
this morning, she said she would be here.” Suddenly the doors of the tower burst open.
Weapons drawn the Knights’ attentions are on the trembling young lass Lyrana “Sirus come
quickly I have Rose, she needs help!” Nearly knocking Lyrana off her feet Sirus rushes to his
wife’s side. Lifting her from her horse Sirus cradles Rose in his arms “Dear God who did this to
you?” “ a girl in.. in.. red, the cult .” were the only words to escape Rose’s lips before she
collapsed.

With Rose safely in the care of a healer and guarded by Sir Matthew, Sirus summoned all
available KoB to the tower. “We must dispense justice to the one who has hurt one of our own.
Prepare yourselves we leave now!”

"The Secret of Zandramas"
Part II Blinded Knights

B-D stood off face to face with KOB. The Knights of Britianna were hard pressed and itching for
a fight only held back by a command and the honor that this was Sirus's crusade. A threat was
made by Zandramas [B-D]. To get any information from her, for the cure for Mystic Rose’s
blindness, the guild would either have to make an exorbitant donation to the Cult of the Black
Dragon, or engage Zandramas in combat.

Before Sirus could answer Zandramas launched an attack to answer the question for him. Upon
reflex both guilds exchanged magic and clashed swords. However the battle had little purpose
and stopped as fiercely as the firefight began. After the battle, Buck-O [KOB] and Zandramas
both lay dead. The cult members proudly picked up their dead and filed into the B-D keep as if
the KOB Guild was never there.

It was as if B-D knew this was the type of action that would bring KOB retribution back time
and time again. And waking up each morning to a siege was not what Kandalor [B-D] would
look forward to each morning. Better to let KOB enter the keep to draw their own conclusions.

Meanwhile Sirus was pondering how the next chapter would play out. Zandramas was most
likely acting alone to please her master, but with her dead where would he turn to next? It was at
this moment he noticed he was looking at Furie [KOB], and something about that was definitely
amiss.

"Furie, where is Gil?" The look of shock on her face was enough to give Sirus his answer. From
the top quarter of the keep he looked up just in time to see a familiar face duck from behind the
highest window. Sirus instinctively knew the face he saw was smiling in pleasure. "They took
our guildmaster hostage."

"No Sirus. Eowen [B-D] has taken a liking to Gil as a toy. It's as simple as that."

"The Secret of Zandramas"
Part III The loss of a toy

Her heart pounding with sheer exhilaration, Eowen made her way to his side undetected.
Silently she placed the blade against his throat and whispered “Ahh! my dear, you are coming
with me. Don’t make a sound or you die here.” Zandramas has proven herself a worthy servant.
The task was easy with the distraction she has created.

Safely in the keep with her new “toy” Eowen’s excitement could not be contained. “ Raticker!
Raticker! Come see what I have!!!” Closing the tome he was working on Raticker rolls his eyes
and laughs to himself “ What has that girl gone and done now.” As he crested the top of the
stairs Raticker’s mouth dropped open. He watched as Eowen finished chaining her new “toy” to
the keep wall and playfully pinched his nose. She proudly turned and smiling at Raticker said
“well Rat what do you think?” Standing before him and the beaming Eowen was none other
than the Guildmaster of KoB, a Dragon Knight, Gil Shatterstone. “Eowen , you have done all
too well, Kandalor will be proud.”

Eowen approaches Gil playfully “ So Gil we meet again, it’s been far too long since I laid eyes
on you, Handsome!” Gil smiled and replied “yes Eowen , a long time, just not long enough so it
would seem.” Raticker laughed “ If only you knew Gil, If only you knew.” Eowen smiled at Gil
and said “ Let me explain what is happening, our mission as Jihad Crusaders is to rid our lands
of the virtuous. You are given a choice either join us or I get to play.” Without a thought Gil
proudly replies “Well Eowen, I’ll never join you and the creatures you conspire with.” .
Eowen’s eyes lightup with excitement at the thought of “playing” with a Dragon Knight.

Working as a team, Eowen and Raticker begin the game. As Eowen inflicts pain, Raticker heals
Gil just enough to prolong the agony and the game. Kandalor wonders in, and smiles as he
watches his crusaders in action. He nods his approval as he leaves the room.

Suddenly the door bursts open and in rush Sirus and Furie of KoB. Eowen stops the game and
demands that they leave now or Gil dies. Furie in her obstinate style refuses to leave without
her guildmaster. As she and Eowen argue the finer points of Honor and justice, Sirus pushed
past Eowen opened a gate and unlocked Gil shoving him through the gate to safety. Raticker
attacked and injured Furie just as she made her way through the gate.

The energies of the gate discontinued its rhythmic hum, became unstable and dissipated quietly.
Eowen, in shock took a moment to fathom the events that transpired only a moment ago. In what
seemed like an instant, she was simply shoved aside, like a peasant, in her own temple. Her hard
fought prey, the Guildmaster himself of KoB torn from her authority. And by none other than the
same knight that taunted her two weeks prior and once again he got away undisciplined!
Raticker stood there watching her sole reaction, her blade clattering upon the floor at her side.
He thought it best not to say a word and made his way downstairs to the lab unnoticed.

Lord Tinkerer and Furie Wedded
[Ed. Note: due to technical difficulties, several stories here are being reported late. We apologize for the inconvience]

This eve (Sept 20th), at the Nu'jelm Palace, in a beautiful ceremony, Tinkerer and Furie were joined in Matrimony. It was an incredible sight, with the Groomsmen wearing full Valorite platemail, and the Bridesmaids in matching light blue dresses. The bride wore a white dress, and the groom was quite fashionable in a white shirt and black pants. While it started a little late, the ceremony went off without a hitch, and after the wedding, the guests were invited to the basement of the Palace to enjoy a large feast that had been prepared for them.

The rings were inscribed with a beautiful saying, "Amor vincit omnia et nos cedamus amori." Which translated means "Love conquers all and let us yield to love."

Truly, our best wished go with the new bride and groom!
