Born on the outskirts of Minoc, Fermaldihyde was orphaned at a young age. Raised by the local miners, she learned the arts of mining and smithing. In her teens, while working in the mines, Fermaldihyde met a young lady by the name of Jade. Jade was an apprentice mage and archer, who had been a miner at one time. They talked and soon became good friends. Jade took Fermaldihyde under her wing, becoming something of a mother to her. Fermaldihyde soon started to learn the arts of magic and swords play. Jade introduced Fermaldihyde to a group of noble warriors; know as the Knights of Britannia (KOB). At first the guild master, Sirus, scared Fermaldihyde. Soon she warmed up to him and continued her training with a few other members of KOB, Seth, Leon Mane, and Oberon.
As Fermaldihyde was almost at the level of grandmaster swordswoman, a terrible accident occurred. Lightning and thunder rocked the Earth, causing extreme destruction. Caught inside the wrath of the storm, Fermaldihyde was struck with lightning and disappeared off the face of the land. Hours passed before she emerged again, loosing her identity and all of her knowledge and skills. Born anew she began retraining from scratch. Her main focus was magery and the arts of melee.
Over time, tensions built between Jade and the guild. The recent purchase of a tower by KOB enraged Jade and she was dismissed. Torn between her friendship with Jade and the guild, Fermaldihyde, with a heavy heart and her head hung low, left with her friend.
As the years passed, she spent her days meditating in her house on Ice Island. She paced around the house, not speaking to anyone. Fermaldihyde thought more and more about KOB. The desire to rejoin them had grown. In the passing years, she had grown in age, maturity, and willingness to master her destiny. Contacting the new guildmaster, Saliador, she was welcomed into the guild once again. She chose Leon Mane to be her sponsor, as he was a trusted friend and a wise man. Due to his inability to spend time with her, he brought forth-another good soul, Iberon. Iberon was energetic and very knowledgeable about the virtues. His training and advice helped bring Fermaldihyde quickly through the ranks. Achieving Knighthood in KOB was a dream come true. All her past disappointments and hard work had finally paid off.
Slowly, with the help of her guildmates, Fermaldihyde perfected the art of swords, the knowledge of the human body, and the tactics of battle. As time progressed further, the arts of meditation, evaluating the intelligence of others, and magery were mastered.
This time spent with the guild caused strain on the relationship between Fermaldihyde and Jade. One day, Fermaldihyde returned home to her tower to find that she was locked out and that it had been taken over by her old friend, Jade. It was eventually sold away for gold, leaving Fermaldihyde homeless and with very little gold. Jade disappeared, never trying to explain what she did. Working through the ashes of financial destruction, Fermaldihyde worked through dungeons defeating enemies of tremendous strength. Her wealth and happiness progressed until she was no longer in need of anything.
The gods, in their infinite irony, decided that a showdown was to take place between Jade and Fermaldihyde. Misplacing their trust, Jade and her friend O'Brien told Fermaldihyde of their plans to take control of Cherry Coke's soul in an attempt to rob her guildmate, Crimson. Quickly as possible, Fermaldihyde dispatched a small pigeon to inform Fredolf and Belle of the horrible plans. They arrived quickly and called upon Crimson to ban Cherry Coke from the house, saving all of his possessions. Jade's evil plan was foiled. The day was saved!
Today Fermaldihyde continues to grow within the guild. She assists newer recruits of the guild sharing her knowledge and skills as she herself was once helped.
Hearing of the honor that Fermaldihyde displayed, the current guildmistress Furie bestowed upon Fermaldihyde an award, the Sword Award. This award stands for one of KOB's pillars, the pillar of Honor.
To this day, Fermaldihyde still travels the lands with KOB, fighting injustice and upholding the pillars of Honor, Loyalty, and Justice.
Dedicated in honor to all retired and fallen KOB members. May you continue to hold the experience of KOB with you always.
