Grandmaster Warrior |
Long ago during the early days of the Knights of Britannia, Dublin was born in the highlands on mainland Britannia in the region north of dungeon Wrong. People rarely ventured to this remote part of the world where the land was fertile, the air was sweet and wildlife abundant. All the needs of the family were met and were far from the politics of everyday Britannia.
Nothing brought more enjoyment than when chores were completed as horseback riding commenced at dusk. It was one night a stranger appeared at the northern cliffs that caught Dublin's concern. A man, was looking intently at the face of the cliff and muttering odd words to himself and tapping the surface of the mountain face with a rock hammer.
Upon greeting the man he motioned to be still putting a single finger to his lips. Not one to tolerate such mannerisms Dublin rebuked the stranger. Her reply not from the stranger, but from the mountain was the very earth starting to shake and a look of failure washed over his face. The base of the cliff broke open as an earth elemental roared in fury and burst forth from the rock. Dublin froze in its wake and locked eyes
on the man who took a stance a few paces from the walking mound of living earth.
Reaching into his side bag the man tossed weeds and pearls that vaporized into the air as he cried out incantations that Dublin did not understand. Three powerful energies launched from the stranger's fingertips shattering an arm, leg, and finally the head off the beast. A few moments Dublin watched the horrid sight as the spirit of the earth searched for answers to his limb-less predicament… Finally it lay in a heap of dry earth. The man took a sword from his back and as if cutting into a roast opened the creatures chest cavity pulling out an unholy dark metal in the shape and size of a heart and placing it into his backpack. From the sound of the metal being tosssed into the pack, it was obvious more the same metal was inside.
"This should be enough for another sword for Jorus. The core is almost completely pure', said the stranger wit a smile in his eyes, "I should come here more often. Metal of this refined magical quality is rarely found deep in the mainland."
"What is your name? And why have I not seen unruly chaos in these lands before?" inquired Dublin.
"I am Sirus, a miner and blacksmith. To answer your other question, I know many secrets of the rock, the land, and terrain as it comes with the trade… that and a little training from a higher power."
"You mean God?"
"No, actually a dragon and a may I add, a damned good friend."
A new friendship was kindled. Dublin took a very high interest in what Sirus offered to share in knowledge and skill. After enough training in the arts of magic Dublin was able to travel to many places across the world tough she did not try to follow in Sirus's footsteps. Before long, Dublin took residence with KOB. Serving as the caretaker of the KOB towers and continued her fascination and study of earth magic. For many seasons, she also trained with the spear and for she had found a new lust for combat. With many Knights of arms in the towers willing to train her, it simply could not be avoided. Because of her thirst for the arts in warfare, Sirus grew concerned. For he knew that combat was the inverse to arcane arts. It was her decision, to continue training on combat. Dublin would always maintain a high level of that knowledge, but never be able to use that knowledge with the ferocity of Sirus or Saliador.
After long years of seeing Sirus turn into a mage and leader of the Knights of Britannia, Sirus asked Dublin to take his place not as a leader, but as a knight. Sirus had taught her everything she needed to know and his time to part ways (at least for a short time) was at hand. Dublin was more capable than ever and accepted
the challenge with Lord Saliador's blessing to be induced into KOB.
